# Drone Mapping Services > Drone mapping across Devon and the South West. Geo-referenced orthomosaics, terrain models, contours and point clouds, in the formats your own software reads. Surveyors, architects, planning consultants and developers who need measurable site data rather than photographs, and who will open the files in their own software. Geo-referenced orthomosaics, terrain models, contours and point clouds of your site, processed from a single flight and handed over in the formats your own software already reads. ## Services - [Orthomosaic site mapping](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/services/site-mapping): A single scaled, geo-referenced image of the whole site, stitched from a flight grid, ready to draw over in CAD or drop into a GIS. - [Terrain models, contours and volumes](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/services/terrain-and-volumes): Surface and terrain models with contours, sections and cut and fill or stockpile volumes, for earthworks estimating and drainage design. - [Point clouds and 3D site models](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/services/point-clouds-and-models): Dense point clouds and textured mesh models of a site or a building, for design work, visualisation and taking measurements off an existing structure. ## Key pages - [Outputs](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/outputs) ## Areas covered - [Exeter, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/exeter): The busiest source of mapping work in the region, with land coming forward on every edge of the city and an airport control zone over its eastern side. - [Cranbrook, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/cranbrook): East Devon's new town, still building out phase by phase, which makes it the clearest case in the region for mapping a site repeatedly rather than once. - [Exmouth, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/exmouth): Estuary town with housing land coming forward inland and a reworked seafront, where salt air and tidal ground both shape when a survey can be flown. - [Honiton, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/honiton): A long high street town on the A30 with allocations on its eastern edge and an aerodrome on the ridge above, which puts airspace top of the checklist. - [Axminster, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/axminster): East Devon market town on the Axe, where the live questions are edge allocations, a river floodplain and a crossing that shapes how the place moves. - [Cullompton, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/cullompton): Motorway-corridor town with a garden village allocation beside it, flat Culm valley ground, and earthworks big enough to make volumes worth measuring. - [Tiverton, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/tiverton): Mid Devon's largest town, with a long-running eastern urban extension, a parkway station on the main line and steep Exe valley ground on its western side. - [Crediton, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/crediton): A market town among large Mid Devon landholdings, where the mapping work is as often a farm, an estate or a drainage catchment as it is a building plot. - [Okehampton, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/okehampton): A moor-edge town with a reopened railway, quarrying history and military danger areas above it, where airspace and terrain are both harder than average. - [Newton Abbot, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/newton-abbot): A market and racing town on the Teign estuary with a large western extension, a link road and low marsh ground that decides how a flight is timed. - [Dawlish, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/dawlish): The town where the main line runs along the sea wall, which makes coastal and rail infrastructure the dominant survey subject rather than housing land. - [Torquay, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/torquay): A steep resort town where the work is hotel and hillside plots, edge-of-town employment land, and recording buildings stacked up a limestone slope. - [Paignton, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/paignton): The flatter half of Torbay, with large edge-of-town housing land, a level seafront and open ground that gives some of the cleanest terrain models here. - [Totnes, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/totnes): A steep town on the tidal Dart with a long-running brownfield regeneration at its centre, where the questions are levels, structures and river access. - [Ivybridge, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/ivybridge): A commuter town on the A38 under the southern edge of Dartmoor, near the china clay country, where extraction and steep valley ground dominate the work. - [Plymouth, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/plymouth): The largest city in the coverage area, where the work is centre and waterfront regeneration, and the naval base restricts airspace over part of it. - [Saltash, Cornwall](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/saltash): The Tamar crossing town, where two nationally significant bridges, a trunk road and the Cornish edge of the estuary set the survey agenda. - [Barnstaple, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/barnstaple): North Devon's main town, with riverside regeneration, a large western growth area, and the Chivenor airfield sitting a few miles down the estuary. - [Bideford, Devon](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/bideford): A Torridge port town with steep streets, a long bridge, working quays and industrial land east of the water, where relief and tide both shape the flight. - [Taunton, Somerset](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/taunton): Somerset's county town, with garden community scale growth on two edges, a regenerating centre, and flat Tone valley ground that floods and models well. - [Wellington, Somerset](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/wellington): A Blackdown Hills town with a large allocation on its northern side and a station being brought back, so corridor and platform work run side by side. - [Bridgwater, Somerset](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/bridgwater): Somerset's industrial and logistics town, beside the region's biggest construction project, on drained levels where the terrain model is the whole point. - [Yeovil, Somerset](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/yeovil): A south Somerset engineering town with edge-of-town growth and two active airfields nearby, which makes airspace the first conversation on every job. - [Dorchester, Dorset](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/dorchester): A county town with a masterplanned extension on its western side and more recorded archaeology under it than anywhere else in the coverage area. - [Bridport, Dorset](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/areas/bridport): A Dorset market town with a substantial allocation on its western side and unstable Jurassic Coast cliffs at West Bay, where monitoring needs angled capture. ## What is on the record - CAA registered operator: Operator ID and Flyer ID held, which is the baseline anyone commissioning a flight over a live site should be asking to see before anything takes off. - A2 Certificate of Competency: The qualification that covers flying closer to people and property than the open default allows, which is what a built up site or a town centre survey needs. - 100 megapixel Hasselblad camera: On a DJI Mavic 4 Pro. Resolution is the whole argument on a mapping job: it decides whether a stitched site map shows a plot peg or a smudge. - Radiometric thermal camera: A DJI Mavic 2 Enterprise Advanced with a 640 by 512 thermal sensor, for the jobs where a site needs a heat reading alongside the map. - Insured with Coverdrone: Full commercial cover. Certificates go to your site team or your client before the visit if that is part of your process. - Written note within 48 hours: Every job comes with a written record of conditions, coverage and the limits of the data, not just a folder of files with no explanation attached. - Construction background: The surveyor came into this from building work rather than from photography, so a site brief about levels, access and programme lands without translation. ## Contact - Phone: 07367 057901 - Email: info@exeterdronesurveys.co.uk - Enquiry form: https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/contact - Based in Exeter, covering Devon and the South West ## Optional - [Full text version](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/llms-full.txt): every service, town and question on this site as markdown. - [Sitemap](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/sitemap.xml) - [Privacy](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/privacy) - [Terms](https://drone-mapping-services.co.uk/terms)
